About the Author
Anne M. Beggs writes historical adventure/romance. The Dahlquin series is a family saga in Medieval Ireland. Her first book, Archer's Grace, is available and the remaining books in the series are being completed. Her short story, The Dragon Lord, A Winter Solstice Tale, appears in Unlocked, A Paper Lantern Writers Anthology. Anne's stories not only follow the coming of age of young Eloise of Dahqluin, but her spiritual journey throughout her lifetime in her partriarchal culture. Anne loves to write about characters who are challenged to be their own hero, and don't wait to be saved.
Born with the horse gene, her first spoken word was "worshey" for horsey. She was drawing, painting, and spinning tales of imaginary equines for years. Her medieval fetish is nearly as long, and she claims to have researched the Middle Ages into and beyond middle age.
Anne is a fifth generation Californian with ties to the Gold Rush. She is still married to her high school sweetheart and they have raised two children--who were dragged along from castle to castle, cathedral to cathedral as Anne conducted her research, looking for a home for her characters. After nearly forty years living at the beach, they sold that dream house to live a new dream, moving from surf to turf. They live on and manage a horse boarding ranch, Equisance, in Watsonville, California, with their eight horses and seven cats. In 2022 they welcomed their first grandchild.
Anne is a member of the Historical Novel society, and has publsihed some articles on mounted archery. For more about her writing, horses, and mounted archery, she invites you to follow her on facebook, IG or her website,
